Admissions Process

Applications for Sixth Form for September 2026 entry 

The notes and dates below give you an indication of the pattern of events over the coming months.
The first date is the Open Evening.  We strongly recommend that you attend as this is an ideal opportunity to look round the school, see presentations on each A level course you may be interested in and most importantly you have the chance to ask teachers questions about their subject area.              

Time Line

Wednesday 1st October 2025    

Sixth Form Open Evening at Lawrence Sheriff School at 6-8pm.
The Sixth Form Prospectus is available to view and download. Please click here
    The Open Evening is for all Year 11 students, boys and girls, interested in joining the Sixth Form. 
     
Thursday 2nd October 2025  

Application process will open.  
     
23.59 Friday 5th December 2025

Informal guidance meetings with applicants to discuss option choices  
We are holding 6 sessions in March and will send out invitations.
Conditional offers will be made subject to the entry requirements.
     
1st & 2nd July 2026   Familiarisation Days
     
GCSE Results Day 
Thursday 20th August 2026

  

Individual meetings with potential Sixth Form students following GCSE results. 
The final part of the process. Students return to Lawrence Sheriff School with their GCSE results to discuss their conditional place in the light of their results to ensure that the admission criteria has been satisfied. Once your place has been confirmed you will receive a Welcome pack containing all the relevant information you will need prior to starting in September.
