We are delighted that you are considering attending Lawrence Sheriff School. Please find the key information regarding the 11+ test below.

For students wishing to join year 7 in September 2023

Students will need to sit the 11+ as part of the admissions process. Please see our 'Admissions Policy 2023-2024' for full details about eligibility, and detailed information about the testing process and allocation of places. Key dates to be aware of are summarised here:

  • Registration for the 11+ opens on Monday 9th May 2022 and closes on Thursday 30th June 2022
  • The 11+ test is sat in September 2022
  • School applications must be submitted to your home local authority by 31st October 2022 (this is a separate process to registering for the 11+)
  • Invitation packs for testing sessions will be sent to parents/carers by Warwickshire Admissions in batches throughout August (starting on the 15th August). If you registered your child for the entrance test by the published deadline or your registration was deemed to be on time and you have not received an invitation pack by 26 August 2022 then you must contact Warwickshire Admissions as a matter of urgency

For 2023 entry, Warwickshire has changed the test provider from CEM to GL. The GL Assessment 11+ exam is well established as a leading provider of similar tests and is already used by other authorities, including Buckinghamshire, Kent and Lincolnshire. The exams will test the same four competencies of Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning as the CEM papers have in previous years.

Further details about the test process, and how to register, can be found at https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/grammar-schools-11-test.

For students wishing to join year 7 in September 2022

The national offer day has passed and your application will now be considered late. Please read our 'Admissions Policy 2022-2023' for full details about eligibility and testing processes for late applications. Students applying for September 2022 entry will take the CEM entrance test, and not the GL one.

Familiarisation guides for the CEM test can be found here: http://www.lawrencesheriffschool.net/lss-admissions/11-information-for-parents/11-familiarisation-guides-cem
