Full Time Teacher of German and French

Required from September 2013

Lawrence Sheriff School is a voluntary aided boys’ grammar school of 881 students, 300 of whom are in the sixth form. The school takes approximately the top 20% of the ability range and in January 2011 was placed top of DfE performance tables for GCSE (having first achieved this distinction in 2008).

We are seeking an inspirational teacher to be part of one of the most popular departments in the school during the next stage of its development. The department is successful and forward thinking, with excellent examination results at GCSE, AS and A level. We are fully committed to all our students taking an MFL in either French or German at GCSE and we have large numbers taking both subjects in the sixth form.

The successful candidate will be able to teach German to KS5 and French to KS3/ KS4. They will also be passionate about the craft of teaching, will demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and will be able to inspire and convince our boys of the relevance of the MFL curriculum.

Whether an NQT or more experienced, you will play a key role in contributing to the department’s continued success, providing enjoyable and exciting learning experiences which enable students to become effective, enthusiastic and independent learners.
